The Citation X is the largest, fastest, and longest range aircraft in Cessna's business aviation corporate jet family, the Citation series. Cessna claims it as the fastest civil transport in service other than the supersonic Concorde.
The design objectives behind the Citation X include transcontinental US and trans-Atlantic range in a mid-size package that cruises faster than any other business jet available. This high speed cruise capability, 65 to 130 mph(105 to 210km/h) faster than other mid-size corporate jets, means the Citation X can save up to one hour of flight time on transcontinental US flights. Flying from Los Angeles to New York with normal wind conditions, normally a 5 and a half hour flight, only takes 4 hours 10 minutes in the Citation X. Also, because of its ability to cruise at high speed at high altitudes, the Citation X consumes less fuel than current jets.
